HJWAVE Wins MOTIE Minister’s Award at FIX 2026
Recognized with the Highest Innovation Award in Future Mobility for Its 3D Waveguide Antenna Technology
HJWAVE, a specialist in RF technology for Physical AI, led by CEO Tae-Hwan Yoo, has received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award in the Future Mobility category at the FIX 2026 (Future Innovation Tech eXpo) Innovation Awards, earning the event’s highest honor for technological innovation.
FIX (Future Innovation Tech eXpo) is a comprehensive technology exhibition showcasing technologies and products in emerging industries, including future mobility, robotics, AI, and ICT. This year, a total of 209 companies participated in the FIX Innovation Awards. Following an evaluation by a panel of domestic and international experts, 31 companies were selected as award recipients, including nine winners of the Highest Innovation Award and 22 winners of the Innovation Award.
In the Future Mobility category, six companies were selected for awards, with HJWAVE receiving the Highest Innovation Award. The recognized technology is the 3D waveguide antenna, a key RF component that determines the transmission and reception performance of next-generation automotive radar systems.
As autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) continue to advance, high-resolution radar capable of detecting surrounding environments with greater precision is becoming increasingly important. Accordingly, a key industry challenge is to achieve the required RF performance in the millimeter-wave frequency band while ensuring precision manufacturing and reliable mass-production capabilities.
HJWAVE has developed its 3D waveguide antenna based on proprietary RF design technology. Beyond product development, the company has established manufacturing infrastructure, including automated production lines and core physical vapor deposition (PVD) processes. These capabilities provide an integrated foundation spanning technology development, product manufacturing, and mass production.
HJWAVE stated that the award is particularly significant because it recognizes not only the technological innovation of its 3D waveguide antenna but also the manufacturing and mass-production capabilities required to bring the technology into practical application in the automotive industry.
Going forward, HJWAVE plans to expand joint development activities with domestic and international automotive electronics and autonomous driving customers, while advancing mass production and supply of its 3D waveguide antenna to accelerate its entry into global markets.
“This Highest Innovation Award is significant because it represents external recognition of the competitiveness of our millimeter-wave RF and 3D waveguide antenna technologies, which HJWAVE has continuously developed and refined,” said Tae-Hwan Yoo, CEO of HJWAVE.
He added, “We have gone beyond technology development to establish a foundation for actual mass production through automated manufacturing systems and the development of in-house core process capabilities. Building on our proprietary RF technology and manufacturing competitiveness, we will continue to expand into the global autonomous driving radar market.”
