HJWAVE CEO Taehwan Yoo Receives Prime Minister’s Commendation for MPE

 Recognition for Developing and Commercializing Critical Radar Components

Contributing to Industrial Competitiveness Through Growth in Revenue, Employment and Exports

 

HJWAVE, a specialist in RF technologies for Physical AI, announced that its CEO, Taehwan Yoo, has received the 2026 Prime Minister’s Commendation for Contributions to the Development of Korea’s Materials, Parts and Equipment (MPE) Industry, in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of the sector.

Yoo received the commendation on October 28 at the 2026 Materials, Parts, Equipment and Root Technology Fair, held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The award recognizes his contributions to strengthening the competitiveness of Korea’s MPE industry by establishing design and manufacturing capabilities for critical components used in autonomous driving radar systems, based on millimeter-wave RF technology, and translating these capabilities into tangible business results.

The recognition highlights not only HJWAVE’s technological competitiveness but also its management achievements in commercializing its technologies and driving business growth. Earlier, HJWAVE received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award, the highest honor in the Future Mobility category at the FIX 2026 Innovation Awards, recognizing the innovative nature of its 3D waveguide antenna technology. With Yoo’s receipt of the Prime Minister’s Commendation, both the company’s technological achievements and its success in commercialization have received recognition.

HJWAVE has been developing 3D waveguide antennas for autonomous driving radar applications based on millimeter-wave RF technology. In particular, the company has addressed the limitations of conventional metal machining methods by adopting injection molding-based manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency and competitiveness in mass production. Through these efforts, HJWAVE has established the capability to independently manage the entire process, from component design to manufacturing, creating a foundation for translating technological development into commercial success.

These commercialization efforts have translated into measurable growth in revenue, employment and exports. Over the past two years, HJWAVE has increased its workforce by approximately 60%, while its revenue has grown approximately 2.64-fold. Since 2025, the company has also maintained annual exports of approximately US$3 million, expanding its business presence in global markets.

HJWAVE plans to continue advancing its millimeter-wave RF technologies and critical radar components while leveraging its technological expertise and manufacturing capabilities to expand its global customer base and increase exports. Through these efforts, the company aims to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of Korea’s automotive electronics industry and supporting the continued development of the country’s MPE sector.
