HJWAVE Receives European Patent Grant Decision for Automotive Radar Waveguide Antenna Technology
HJWAVE, a millimeter-wave (mmWave)-based autonomous driving RF technology company led by CEO Taehwan Yoo, announced that it has received a decision from the European Patent Office (EPO) to grant a patent covering its waveguide antenna technology for automotive radar applications.
The patent relates to HJWAVE’s proprietary waveguide antenna technology, which the company has been pursuing for intellectual property protection in Europe following patent rights secured in Korea and the United States. With the recent grant decision from the EPO, HJWAVE has further strengthened its intellectual property (IP) foundation across key global markets.
The patented technology is a radar antenna solution designed to deliver high-resolution and wide-angle performance in millimeter-wave radar systems. It can be utilized to enhance the performance of radar sensors used in autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Waveguide antennas are widely recognized as one of the key components affecting radar detection range and angular resolution.
Leveraging its waveguide antenna design expertise, HJWAVE develops a range of millimeter-wave RF solutions and continues to expand the commercialization and mass-production adoption of its technologies. The company is particularly focused on securing both product performance and manufacturing efficiency through its proprietary design capabilities and production technologies.
According to the company, HJWAVE continues to invest in expanding its global patent portfolio alongside ongoing technology development efforts. The European patent grant decision is expected to broaden the scope of protection for its core technologies and strengthen the foundation for future collaborations with international customers and partners.
“This European patent grant decision reflects recognition of the originality and competitiveness of our waveguide antenna technology,” said Taehwan Yoo, CEO of HJWAVE. “We will continue to enhance our technological competitiveness in the global market through sustained R&D investment and the expansion of our intellectual property portfolio.”
