HJWAVE Signs Radar Antenna Supply Deal, Reorganizes into Six Centers
HJWAVE, a specialist in autonomous driving RF solutions (CEO: Taehwan Yoo), has signed a supply cooperation agreement for radar antennas with a global autonomous driving company and carried out an organizational restructuring to support the initiative.
The agreement is a joint project focused on the development and supply cooperation of 3D waveguide antennas for autonomous driving radar. Both parties plan to collaborate primarily on technology development and performance validation. Details regarding the customer and specific contract terms have not been disclosed due to confidentiality clauses.
HJWAVE possesses millimeter-wave (mmWave)-based waveguide antenna design technology and RF system engineering capabilities, which are considered key factors in determining the performance of autonomous driving radar systems. In particular, the company noted that its technology has strong applicability in ADAS and autonomous driving environments that require high resolution and wide field-of-view characteristics.
In response to the agreement, the company has initiated an organizational restructuring to strengthen its supply response system. Effective April 1, HJWAVE reorganized into a six-center structure comprising R&D, business planning, sales, manufacturing, quality, and procurement, while also reinforcing decision-making authority centered on each division head.
This restructuring aims to minimize decision-making delays that may arise from a function-based organizational structure and to enhance project execution by organically linking development, production, and quality functions. The company has also realigned its operational framework to ensure that requirements identified during the development stage can be rapidly reflected in production and quality processes.
Mass production operations will be carried out based on a division of roles among affiliates. Dasung, responsible for SMT and automotive safety component manufacturing, and HJTech, which handles automotive electronics assembly, will oversee production, while HJWAVE will focus on RF design and core technology development. Through this structure, the company aims to secure both technological competitiveness and production efficiency.
CEO Taehwan Yoo stated, “This agreement is meaningful in that it establishes a foundation for supply cooperation with a global customer,” adding, “Through the organizational restructuring, we will strengthen execution capabilities across the entire process from development to supply.” He further noted, “We are advancing our business structure with a focus on profitability and technological competitiveness, and are building a foundation for sustainable growth through solid, fundamentals-driven management.”
