HJWAVE Selected for the “Patent-Driven R&D Strategy Support Program"
HJWAVE, a Physical AI RF specialist, announced that it has been selected for the 2025 “Patent-Driven R&D Strategy Support Program,” organized by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and the Korea Intellectual property STrategy Agency (KISTA).
The program provides tailored patent strategies for small and mid-sized enterprises, integrating intellectual property (IP) strategies from the R&D stage to productization and commercialization. Through this support, HJWAVE plans to pursue divisional and continuation applications for its key patents, while also securing entry into major international markets. These efforts are expected to prevent competitor design-arounds and expand the scope of its patent rights.
HJWAVE holds core technologies in the mmWave RF field, including 3D waveguide antennas and radar perception sensors, and has secured numerous registered and pending patents both domestically and internationally. In particular, its 3D waveguide antenna has passed the IEC60068-2 high-reliability test, which meets safety component standards for complete radar products—demonstrating quality and reliability in mass production environments.
The company also operates a manufacturing line that covers everything from SMT, assembly to inspection processes, and it holds ISO, IATF16949, and SQ certifications, establishing a quality system that enables direct supply to the global automotive electronics industry.
With this selection, HJWAVE aims to accelerate the virtuous cycle of strengthening patent rights—from technology acquisition to product commercialization and mass production—ultimately driving global revenue growth.
Yoo Tae-hwan, CEO of HJWAVE, stated, “Patents are both the starting point of our competitiveness and the sword and shield of our global business. We will continue to transform the value of our core patents into products and revenue while firmly safeguarding our rights abroad.” He added, “HJWAVE will move beyond being an autonomous driving RF components company to become a deep-tech RF specialist that provides intelligent sensing hardware for the Physical AI era.”
