HJWAVE, vertical self-driving radar inspection equipment (EOL) supply contract

 

Autonomous driving component company HJWAVE Co., Ltd., (CEO Yoo Tae-hwan) announced on the 10th that it has signed a contract to supply vertical radar inspection equipment (EOL, End of Line) for performance calibration testing of MRR (Middle Range Radar) radar to a domestic autonomous driving radar company.

The newly developed vertical radar EOL equipment has been downsized to 78% compared to the conventional horizontal radar EOL, and the price has been reduced by 40%. The focus was on providing customers with advantages in terms of efficiency in production line space and price while achieving the same performance as the conventional horizontal type.

HJWAVE has already completed the supply of 50% of the contracted quantity, and the remaining supply will be completed in the third quarter of 2023. In addition to the supply of EOL for LRR (Long Range Radar) and SRR (Short Range Radar) that have been supplied in the past, HJWAVE will now supply EOL equipment for all types of radar for autonomous driving.

Yoo Tae-hwan, CEO of HJWAVE, stated, “To alleviate customer concerns about the new form, we have been conducting our own pre-verification process and communicating with customers. We approached the business from the perspective of securing the long-term competitiveness of customers rather than short-term sales.” He also added, “We have also concluded a contract to set up an overseas factory in the second half of this year, adopting a new proposal to produce radar inspection equipment for MRR and SRR vehicles using the same facility.”

HJWAVE, a millimeter wave component company, aims to overcome the limitations of component companies and expand its business area from the development of radar antennas for autonomous driving to inspection equipment. In the future, it plans to expand its business into the EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) field through independent line configuration.
