HJWAVE Signs Contract With ‘INFINEON’ To Develop Next-Generation Radar For Self-Driving
‘HJWAVE Co., Ltd. (CEO Yoo Tae-hwan)’ announced on the 13th that they have signed a contract related to the development of next-generation radars for autonomous driving, combining their proprietary core technology, WGIM (Wave Guided Injection Molded) antenna technology, with the new autonomous driving radar chipset from the global semiconductor company ‘Infineon.’
The WGIM antenna technology is a crucial component technology for autonomous driving radars, determining the size and performance of the radar. It satisfies increased detection range and wide bandwidth/wide-angle characteristics based on low loss, about 10% compared to conventional antenna technologies.
Additionally, it has the advantages of compactness, beam tilting capability, and modular platform configuration, allowing the release of new radar products by simply changing the antenna module.
Yoo Tae-hwan, the CEO of HJWAVE, stated, “Through the development of next-generation radars with Infineon, we consider this as an excellent opportunity to propose our antenna technology and products to global autonomous driving companies, while also serving as an important stepping stone for global expansion.”
In the future, HJWAVE plans to strengthen its R&D capabilities, expand into various industries, and establish a campus in Pangyo in addition to its headquarters in Songdo, Incheon. They aim to accelerate business growth by expanding their workforce and facilities.
