HJWAVE Selected for the ‘Deeptech Incubator Project for Startup 1000+ (DIPS1000+)’

 

HJWAVE, a specialized RF company in the millimeter-wave (mmWAVE, 30~300GHz) band, announced on the 21st that it has been selected in the future mobility sector of the ‘Deeptech Incubator Project for Startup 1000+ (DIPS1000+)’.

The ‘DIPS1000+’ is a program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups aimed at supporting and nurturing startups that will lead the future of the national economy, based on ten key super-gap technologies including system semiconductors, future mobility, and AI big data. Companies selected for the project can receive up to 1.1 billion KRW (commercialization funds and R&D funds) over three years, along with various benefits such as policy funds and technology guarantees.

Yoo TaeHwan, CEO of HJWAVE, said, “Our selection for the project recognizes our technological capability and innovation,” and added, “Through this project, we will further advance our autonomous driving radar antenna technology and establish ourselves as a leading company in future technologies in the millimeter-wave band, including autonomous driving.”

Previously, HJWAVE has been recognized for its outstanding technological capabilities, receiving awards such as the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award and the Minister of Science and ICT Award.

HJWAVE has launched two types of phase arrays and 3D antennas exclusively for imaging radar

The new products utilize a cascading structure with four chips to implement Tx16*Rx16, a total of 256 elements. The first method, a PCB Phase Array structure, incorporates an EBG (Electromagnetic Band Gap) structure to eliminate the channel deviation and ripple that are typical shortcomings of conventional methods. The second method, the WGIM (Waveguide Injection Molded) 3D antenna structure, consists of three layers and improves channel deviation by 40% and ripple by 20% compared to the improved PCB Phase Array method.
