HJWAVE Launches Multi-Channel Supported Antennas for Imaging Radars and Establishes Production Facilities

HJWAVE, a specialized RF (Radio Frequency) solutions provider in the millimeter-wave (mmWave) range (30~300GHz), has announced on the 26th that they are launching dedicated antennas for multi-channel imaging radars and setting up dedicated production facilities.

These products are designed for a wide range of applications, including autonomous driving imaging radars, perimeter surveillance, and boundary radar systems. They focus on meeting the high-resolution requirements of imaging radars by offering support for multiple channels and improving vertical and horizontal resolutions with an emphasis on reducing Angel Error.

Traditionally, radars have supported 12~16 channels, but this product expands support to 144~256 channels. It utilizes a waveguide injection molding antenna technique, which can improve channel-to-channel deviations and radiation patterns by over 60% compared to conventional PCB Phase Array antenna methods.

A company representative stated, “We are currently in contracts with domestic and international companies for autonomous driving imaging radar, as well as radar systems for defense applications. Based on these collaborations, we have improved distance, angle, and speed detection within radar systems, enhancing both horizontal and vertical resolutions, and enabling accurate differentiation of objects by their quantity and size.”

Yoo Tae-hwan, CEO of HJWAVE, mentioned, “The technologies and products developed through our previous research and development efforts are now being introduced to the market. We are also in the process of establishing production facilities to ensure stable quality and competitive pricing.”

Furthermore, he added, “Starting from research and development based on our proprietary patents and offering customized solutions to our customers, we aim to contribute to the localization and development of mmWave RF technologies in South Korea. This will help improve trade balance and strengthen our global industrial competitiveness.”
